Met Police LGBT Community Briefing

The Met Police Commissioner, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, Commanders Mak Chishty and David Musker, and several other high ranking police and specialist officers met today with Pride in London director, Michael Salter-Church MBE, LGBT venue owners and promoters and members of LGBT community groups to discuss security implications for the upcoming Pride in London celebrations on June 25th in the aftermath of the horrific attack at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando last weekend. Sir Bernard reassured the gathering of over 200 people at Heaven nightclub about the plans in place and took several questions from the floor before handing over to the two commanders to provide more insight on hate crime reporting and procedure as well as front line policing and community engagement.
